Monday
I only have half the photos we took so I will be able to update this trippie with more pics.
So, our first morning waking up in the Cheyenne. I had survived the top bunk, which is actually quite comfy!
We had a breakfast at Cafe Mickey’s we met Eeyore and Pluto, Rabbit and Mickey.
I love Cafe Mickey’s breakfast. There’s lots to choose from and the character interaction is great. Eeyore gave us lots of cuddles and Pluto went round licking us with his tongue!
As it was EMH, Liz and Laura wanted to go on Space Mountain. I went on this 4 years ago and didn’t like it. I would always wait and walk around the gift shop but I decided to give it another go.
I still don’t like it.
My head and neck hurt and I just didn’t find it fun.
All of a sudden the park seemed busy for the time of year. And it got worse. Queue times went up and crowds everywhere. What is going on? Surely it’s not the holidays. Even Pirates had a wait time, but we still went on it!
As we passed Small world we saw Piglet, Tigger and Eeyore. They had a British CM called Luke, he was very funny with the characters and he took a picture of the three of us with Tigger and Eeyore. (photos to follow)
Then, we decided to go over to the studios.
We had a quick look at Toy Story Playland
We queued up to see Sulley as his name was on Laura’s hoodie. The CM saw our hoodies and was brilliant he said “OK Team Disney, smile!” he saw the back of our hoodies but not Laura’s. When she showed him he sent her back to Sulley and told him about it and took another photo. Laura was over the moon. What a lovely guy. (photos to follow)
We noticed again how busy it was. (I understand that this is usual on peak times and midseason but off peak we’re just not used to it!)
We went to Cinemagique as we knew we’d get a sit down and I love the film. As we came out Stitch was there. As was the massive crowd coming from Stitch live. An AMAZING thing happened. But this is my memory of it so it could be totally misremembered. We walked towards Stitch but I saw the crowd and thought, oh never mind. But when people saw my hoodie and the CM’s saw it too everyone let me go first! They almost stood back and watched as Stitch was delighted to see his name! He got Laura to take a picture of him hugging me and pointing to his name! I was so happy and amazed that I had been allowed to go first! (photos to follow)
We came back to the Park and went to Cable car bake shop Laura and I had cheese, ham and gherkin sandwiches and we shared a carrot cake. It’s so nice in there and often quiet. I think because from the street you can’t see all the seating. It’s warm in there too!
Then we saw the train, Gepetto blew me a kiss, I blew him one back, he caught it and put it in his pocket! I couldn’t stop laughing. And jumping up and down. No matter how old I get character interaction just makes it so special. We visited the castle and had a good look round, the stained glass is so beautiful.
We went on Pirates again and waited for Jack Sparrow who liked our Team Disney hoodies and said he’d forgotten his!
We went on a wander to Frontierland, we turned a corner and there was Mickey (already in his Halloween top hat and tails) Goofy (who Laura is a bit scard of) Jessie and Woody. We had pictures with Jessie and Woody.
There was when one woman manhandled Jessie who at the time was posing for other people’s photos. This woman literally pulled at Jessie’s arm so she would turn around. It’s bad enough when adults shove their children in front of you. But when other adults (and children) are waiting patiently, there is no need. It must be really tough for the non speaking characters when people do that. And a lot of the time the rude person has gone and so telling a CM is pointless.
As the park was closing we went for dinner at Annettes. Laura and I had vanilla coke, cheeseburger and fries. Liz had something vegetarian ( I know it had avocado and tomato with it as I was given these to eat!) For Pudding Laura nad I had a doughnut and Ben and Jerry’s icecream. Liz had a peanut butter and Orio milkshake.
We like Annettes, it's busy but the food is good and there was a rollerskating waiter that we recognised from the year before!
We browsed the shops and then went to the hotel before we went to sleep. I made up my mind to google whether it had been a bank holiday and it had.
Note to self: check French bank holidays!
