Teachers: The Daily 5 and The Cafe workshops

Has anyone been to one of these workshops? They are coming near me and I am tempted to go. I am an ELED student and would like to attend but have no idea what one of these days consist of. I guess I am a little nervous because of being a newbie.

I don't know anything about the workshops but I subed in a 1st grade classroom a few weeks ago that used "The Daily 5" and it was really very interesting and seemed to work quite well. I would take the opportunity to go.

our school started the daily 5 for my twins (1st grade) and it is wonderful! their teacher is very happy with it, and the kids seem very engaged and into it when I am in the classroom (I volunteer a lot)

Thanks for the links. I observed a 6th grade room and the program was very impressive to me.

One of the schools in my district is in the process of fully implementing it and the teacher who was telling us about it seemed quite and enthusiastic. She felt it was a very effective program.
