We're doing this tomorrow as an in-service (1/2 day for kids). What can I expect?

Never had it, sorry. We're having an inservice on "safe touching"..... ugh!

I see that you are from New York, so I believe that you will be taking SCIP....which stands for Strategies in Crisis Intervention and Prevention. This is a NYS approved training to assist in identifying and preventing escalating and agressive behavior. It is an EXCELLENT training! The full course takes 3 days and involves learning about behavior, learning styles, recognizing warning signs, redirecting behavior and abuse training. The second half of the 3 day course teaches how to block agressive behavior and several restraint holds that can be used if behavior becomes uncontrollable. The techniques taught actually work and the ways to identify behavior before it escalates is the really important part of the entire course.

If you have any other questions or concerns....pm me and I will answer in more detail.

Linda

:rotfl: I thought you were asking if you should skip training. :teeth:
