Teachers/Education Discount at Swan

Have any UK members used this discount provided by Dreams Unlimited?
My boyfriend is an adult learning trainer (in IT) employed by a college in our town.
Would this qualify for the discount? It seems like it would be fine to me, but I don't want to get there and be asked for more money!!
Here's all I can find on DU site regarding what you need to qualify:


Teacher and Education Support Staff Discount
All teachers and educational facility administrative personnel (includes colleges and universities) can take advantage of the TEACHER discounts. If you are a teacher with a certified teaching certificate, or you are employed in a school as an educational facility administrator you can take advantage of the TEACHER discounts.This would include teachers aides, substitute teachers, and administrative staff. These job types will require a Work ID or letter from supervisor on company letterhead stating employment or a recent Pay Stub.

I don't see why... Dreams Unlimited will give "annual pass holder's" discounts to British annual pass holders. I believe that AA members can also get AAA discounts.

The best way is to email/phone Dreamsunlimited and ask

Had a reply to my question on their forum.

YES we can have the discount as long as we have proof eg. a payslip and it must be booked under his name.

Hmmm.... this may take away the element of surprise if I start asking if I can vet his post and check his payslips! I'll think of something. So worth it for the discount though!

We stayed at the Dolphin in December 2005 with a teacher discount and are booked for the Swan, again with teacher discount, for July 2007. We booked through Dreams Res which are part of Dreams Unlimited Travel.

The discount is deffinitely available to us Brits. A letter from his employer, on letter headed paper, stating that he is a teacher/tutor does the trick. I've done this a couple of times.

There's info on all the swan/dolphin discounts in a seperate thrread at the top of the thread lists. I believe it works out at around $149 per night, not bad at all with the current exchange rate.

We have booked 11 nights at the Swan for next July. We booked with the teacher discount and are paying $167 per night (including taxes). We were $210 per night at the Dolphin last year over New Year with discount.
