teacher rates @Swan & Dolphin don't always apply

I checked availability of rooms for President's week using the teacher discount on the website and it showed availabilty for those nights. I then called Starwood to book directly since I had some questions and I was told that I could only get the discount for the 1st night and all the other nights would be at the regular rate. So, I'm keeping my ressies to CSR.

The very same thing happened to us for Presidents week this year (2003). We tried calling many times but no availability for all the dates. Then I put our dates in on dreamsunlimitedtravel and low and behold Teacher Rates for our entire stay. It costs nothing and the service was great with no hitches at all. Good Luck. I know you would love the Dolphin and of course the GREAT location.

I second that vote for a great deal thorugh DU. I tried booking the Swan for NYE on the Starwood site no vacancy. Called the number and tried the Dolphin for 1/2 price with starwood points, unavaialbe then tried AAA rate, not avaliable. Then for the heck of it , tried it through DU for the Swan and got the entertainment club ratefor NYE ! I guess DU has some rooms set aside but they got me the resevation. When I then decieded to come two days earlier I checked the DU site, it had the days but the entertaiment rate had gone up from $179 to 200+. I emailed DU, asked if they could see if we could arrive two days earlier and protect our original price. Got an email back all done!!
