Not sure why I'm worry about this this year but wondering what others do regarding teacher gifts. Do you give gifts to all their teachers?

DS is in 3rd grade and has his regular classroom teacher, 2 aides, art, gym, music, OT, speech, social worker and regular ed teacher. In the past I've only sent gifts for his regular classroom teacher and two aides since he is with them the majority of the time but now I'm having second thoughts.

Do you give gifts to everyone or just their main teacher?

TIA

I usually give to just the classroom teacher and the sped teacher but there were a couple of times where I gave something to the resource teacher and speech teacher when I thought that they really did a great job. This year my son has moved up to middle school so I am not sure what I will do. There is his "case worker" who will definately get a present (she is also the sped teacher in LA) as she has done so much for him with the transition to middle school and really advocates for him with the other teachers. There are a couple of teachers who have really made an impression on him this year so I will end up making something for them as well. There is one teacher however, that does not follow his IEP and goes out of her way to make things difficult (have heard from several other parents that she has done similar things with their children and has made several children cry) and she will not be getting a gift from my DS this year.

I do the main teacher, aides, speech therapist, and bus drivers. If any of the other teachers has been especially helpful, or our daughters seem to be fond of, then I get them a gift too.

I just give to his main teacher in school and to his gifted teacher who he goes to 1 day a week. Oh and to his therapy horseback riding instructor.

this causes me so much stress every year, LOL! Who to give to....how much...does someone get a bigger gift than someone else....what about all 800 (LOL) of the other people (specials, speech, OT, psych, etc)...

This year, I am giving the same gift to the class teacher, the spec-ed teacher who pushes in the room about 2 hours a day, and ds's 1:1 aide. I just can't spend hundreds of $$ on gifts for everyone...so everyone else is going to get a card. :)

I honestly would rather get a note from the parent telling me that they appreciate my working with their child and telling me some of the things they have noticed their child has learned instead of any other gift.

I know this probably won't make me popular, but you can only use so many mugs, scarfs, bath sets, etc. and then they become clutter.

I don't need more "things" but I do appreciate your letting me know that you notice the hard work I put towards helping your child reach his or her potential.

If you must get something, a book for the class library would be nice.

I am giving autism bracelets to my son's 2 teachers (ESE class and autism class). All the aids and bus drivers are getting boxes of candy. :thumbsup2 :santa:
