Teacher discounts at resorts?

I just read a post on the Theme Parks board about teacher discounts at the Dolphin. Do any other resorts offer this? My sister and her family are thinking of coming with us on our next trip, and would like to stay in a deluxe hotel, but they really can't afford it. She is a teacher so if they could get a discount that would be great! Thanks for any info anyone might have!

Both the Dolphin and the Swan have the teacher discounts. They are both within walking distance (or a short boat ride) from Epcot and MGM. GREAT location for a great price. I'm a teacher and we stayed at the Swan a couple years ago!

Do they always offer the discounts or is it like the AP codes where sometimes they off er them and sometimes not?

They are usually offered but subject to availability. I think Dolphin is a little cheaper than Swan. They also offer AP discounts pretty far in advance unlike the WDW resorts.

I'm a teacher and we stayed at the Dolphin a few years ago when the rate was $119 a night. Now it has gone up appreciably. I think it was $149 when we called this year. I actually got a better quote with the AAA discount. It's always nice to be given a consideration, but buyers beware. It pays to shop around.

Thanks for the heads-up, Lucy's Mom. DH and I had decided we would have to try the Swan/Dolphin after heading out of Epcot via the boardwalk area the last time we visited, and hearing that they have great teacher/nurse/gov't employee discounts.

I'll make sure I check out the AP and AAA discounts as well when we're ready to book.
