Teacher/allears rates full for Swan/Dolphin for our dates...should I keep trying?

Or should I pretty much give up on that? Do those rates crop again at any time? The only dates in Dec. that were available at those rates were Dec. 15 and 16th.

Well we called the swan for our rates, govt. for april, and out of 8 days, they only offered the rate 2 days and then came through with a 3rd day. I just read another poster say she couldnt get the rate for her stay either and thinks the s/d may be limiting their discounts. We also plan to stay at the swan again nov28-dec 1 but that is for a conference. When we called the swan like 3 times directly for our april rates, the cm was not nice, but did firmly say, no these rooms will not be discounted any more, there are NO discounts, we asked about ap, aaa, etc. etc. We did get the swan to match the internet rate which was lower than the quoted rate for one night they gave dh directly over the phone. Looks like money and filling up rooms is the bottom line lately. I have never been there the time frame you are mentioning, so maybe another poster can help. Good luck.

The discounts were ALWAYS used to help sell rooms that would otherwise be empty. Bookings are up so the number of discounted rooms is down. If a conference gets cancelled or winds up using fewer rooms than they blocked you might see some rooms open up but the days of getting S/D for the price of a moderate may be gone.

I tried for the teacher rate from June 17 - 23, and was told that not one of those dates are available.

Hey Bimmy56 ~ those are the same dates I reserved! Try calling the hotel directly and ask about the allears code. I couldn't get the teacher rate, but allears was next best at $169.50. It's worth a try!

The teachers' rate at Swan/Dolphin was released much later for our March trip than it has been in the past. We had already booked the Contemporary when the rate showed up for 2 or 3 of our nights in the middle of our stay. It seems the S/D is offering the discounts for a few nights at a time and hoping people will book the additional nights at a higher rate. The allears code of $169.50 is a good one though. I'd jump on that if I had the chance.
