I noticed in the 6-26 navigator special passes to Tea w/ Wendy Darling. Is it still offered and is it worth going to?

We did Tea With Wendy on the 9/27 Magic. My dd was very excited about going (we watched Peter Pan for a couple of weeks before the cruise in anticipation), but she and I both thought it was a bit disappointing.

Our then 5 year old had the best time of his life right before and during tea with Wendy. Two years ago we sailed on a Halloween Western Cruise, and our son brought three costumes for the big day. Before tea with Wendy he changed into his Peter Pan costume, and while we were waiting to go in, Captain Hook and Mr. Smee walked past him. Captain Hook engaged my son in a swordfight (with a lollipop!) and Peter Pan of course won. Then when we went in, Wendy chose my son to sit at the table with her. He was in heaven and still talks about it to this day! I thought it was a very sweet little gathering for kids that are fans of Peter Pan.

i was thinking of taking my DS5- but i was assuming this was geared more towards girls- were there any other boys at this tea? my DH being the "macho" man:rolleyes: he is thought this sounded kind of girlish
thanks

:sunny:

they actually call 2 boys up to sit with Wendy. I think its more fun for boys knowing they have a chance to sit with Wendy!

My son and husband did not want to attend Tea with Wendy, but felt obligated since I had gotten them tickets. Wendy chose my son and another boy to sit with her at the front to demonstrate how to take tea. My son loved it!!! Today we got our pictures back and he still is loving being chosen!!!

My DSs 4 & 7 attended, but were not that excited about the event at the time. They had fun, but it's nothing they'd want to do again. It's really short, so why not try it? They did learn something though, b/c they scolded my husband for not drinking his tea w/ his pinky out later that night. LOL :)

We attended on the 9/27 cruise and I was somewhat disappointed. It was very very short (maybe 10-15 minutes?) and Wendy's microphone volume was SO low that we couldn't hear her tell a story about Peter Pan. That being said, the cookies and iced tea were yummy, we have a beautiful picture of our children with Wendy, and my DD (age 5 1/2) absolutely loved it and said it was the best thing she did on the ship. So, guess what...next year, if DD wants to do it again, guess who will be there. :D

Oops...forgot to mention. This event was NOT publicized in the Navigator. Maybe because we were on an abbreviated Hurricane trip. We went to Guest Service on day two and asked about it and they gave us our tickets on the spot. This could be different when the itinerary goes as planned...

I'm not really sure what people expect from this event that makes them disspointed in the tea. My DW took our two boys on our first 7 day cruise in 2002, and they enjoyed it. Is it a high energy, multi-media presentation, nope. But they thought was cute and enjoyable.

We were also on the 9/25(27) cruise and chose to go agian, espcially since our God-daughter, her two sisters and mom were with us and had really wanted to do this. This time my youngest son (8) got picked to be one of Wendy's brothers. He thought that was cool, and we got some great photos. The girls enjoyed it and loved the chance to get photos and autographs.

Again, this is not a splashy event, but it is a cute, nice and fun moment on the ship.
