Hi

I understand that you can hire kettles from the sequoia lodge and I wondered if anyone knew how much they were, and if they have many in stock to hire!

My mate is a teapot in disguise:rotfl: and we were wondering if we should take our own travel kettle to ensure we do get a kettle!

Also if you hire the kettle and presumably buy supplies from the hotel is like a basket you are given with bits in or do you just buy stuff like coffee jars, hot chocolate sachets and fresh milk from the shop? Mate will have her supply of about 240 teabags!!

Now the people I was with last month laughed when I took this pic but I knew it would come in useful...... So as you can see its 6 euros. You get 4 cups, some teas, coffees, sugars, milks, hot choc and some biccys. BUT you can then just grab extra teas etc from breakfast in the morning. There was no charge for the kettle - we just rang housekeeping for that.

Thanks for posting that ruthiebabie :goodvibes

Next question, do you have to buy one of these packs in order to hire a kettle, or could you bring your own tea and coffee? DD drinks her coffee black, and I tend to drink my tea black while away from home too, so I'm not sure we would need most of the things in those packs. Looks like there are some biscuits that might be nice though popcorn::

No you don't need to buy a pack - just ring housekeeping and ask for a kettle or ask at reception.

Thanks!

As was previously asked by the OP, are these kettles readily available, or if you're at all worried is it worth buying a travel kettle before we go?

We've never had an issue getting one but we don't go school holiday season. If its a life or death situ it might be worth investing in one and a couple of plastic mugs. Otherwise I'd just take your chances.

I think that, being as on our next trip we are staying at the Explorers, and that they definitely have tea and coffee making facilities there, that we will probably take our chances on our forthcoming Easter trip. It's only 3 nights after all :coffee:

Just a word of warning- at Explorers they provide a kettle but the cups are paper cups and you only get a welcome pack of tea/coffee (I think 1 of everything) and the cups arent renewed either so the kettle is handy but take your own supplies and a couple of cheap mugs or buy them as souvenirs

Thank you so, so much for this warning, we are there for 5 nights, so will definitely make sure we go with supplies! :flower3:

Yes, we always take a box of teabags with us and treat ourselves to a couple of mugs which we can take home as souvenirs. You can buy milk in the Santa Fe garage ~ sometimes there are cartons for sale in the shop at the hotel, but not always, so it's best to not rely on buying any there. :)

Another thing my mum does is at the Explorers is to take a small Thermos and fills it from the milk machine - it is still fresh for her evening cuppa. :goodvibes

Since DD drinks her coffee black, and I can also happily drink my tea black, milk is not an issue with us :cutie:
