Has anyone tried double-booking hotel rooms at Tokyo Disneyland?

I’m wondering if it’s possible to have a vacation package booked for one night of a longer stay, and just not sleep in the package room. Would it work if the room-only was booked under a different person than whoever was the lead guest on the package?

Yes, I know that they will transfer your luggage from one room/hotel to another, but we are really trying to avoid switching rooms at all due to allergy considerations. Also, I am toying with the idea of using some excess DVC points to book the room only portion, so it would just work out better for us to have one long room reservation with one night of package overlapping in the middle.

Thoughts?

If you book your non-package room and the package room as the exact same room type at the same resort, TDR will most likely honor your request to stay in the same room - they'll likely merge them. They did for us a couple years ago. You can request that (after your bookings are complete) via email. But again, the exact same room type and location. Also, just a word of caution - booking through DVC points at TDR can be quite challenging, depending on the time of year you go.

As for your original question, I'm not sure how that would work out, but it seems feasible but expensive! But if it's like the parks in the US, at a minimum you would need different lead names. Good luck with your planning - it's a really fun and exciting experience at TDR.

Thanks. I know they will link if I book the same room type, and that’s a good option, IF we can get the same room type. I’m specifically looking for info on the double booking option. Not worried about cost, for trips like this the experience is more important than the price tag. For example, our first trip to TDR was on the Adventures by Disney Jet, so no matter what we end up paying for the overlapping room night(s) it’ll work out cheaper than that trip…
