I'm going to that 'other' park for a week but I want to take my husband to Tchoup Chop for his birthday dinner. I've been to Emeril's website and I know a reservation needs to be made in advance and I've seen the menu. I have a few questions though....Can you tell me about parking, how long it takes to get there from the WL, how far in advance should I make the reservation (Dec. 2nd birthday dinner), what are the approx. prices for the dinner entrees (a price range will be fine), will they work with you on food substitutions if you don't like, say...onions or whatever, do you know how often Emeril is actually there and when he makes appearances and what do they offer for birthday celebrations (DH will turn 38)?? This is all I can think of right now (like that isn't enough!). These are all important questions though (except the one about Emeril's appearances). Thanks for helping me out! :thanks:

I cant tell you about parking or how long it takes to get there since we stay onsite. Make your reservation online when it allows. Menu and prioces can be found at http://www.theotherorlando.com/updates/tchoupmenu.html

Yes, they will omit onions if you dont like them. I have changed things around and requested items not on the menu now but used to be and no problem. Emeril has no set schedule to be there, when it first opened he was there more often. Hes a busy guy and last we asked sometimes just pops in without notice.

I'm not sure what you meant by whats offered for celebrations. To be honest we have celebrated many birthdays at Universal in all different restaurants and this one was the most understated. We ordered a cake ahead of time, anything you want, for a hefty $. It was excellent cake and incredibly decorated. Give them a call if you have something specific.

Request a table next to the pond. :goodvibes

Thanks! If the weather is nice I'll keep the pond-side table in mind. The prices aren't bad at all. As far as the celebration thing, I just wanted to know if they offered up anything for free...cupcake, dessert, a song...whatever. I know some folks think it's kinda tacky to expect stuff like that but I'm of the notion that "if ya can get it for free, you'd be stupid not to take it"....of course, this is only if it's wanted or needed ;) . (I don't grab for those free cookies at Teeters just 'cause they're free.) Anyway, DH :lovestruc Emeril and I don't think he knows that Tchoup Chop is in Orlando. It'll be a great surprise. I think I can keep it a secret up until we pull up to the restaurant. Thanks again for the info! I've already made a note about the pond-side table! :thumbsup2

DW and I went for my birthday in October. They were really attentive and everyone wished me "Happy...". I think they did bring out a little piece of cake. It cost the 2 of us about $80 without drinks. They sat us on the north wall that used to be a waterfall but now is just large diameter bamboo against blue tile. I asked the waiter to take our photo and he was funny. He wanted to know if he should crawl into the bamboo to take it so we could have the whole restaurant as a background. I couldn't make him do that. We do have a photo from a prior visit when my daughter and I were the only ones in the restaurant. On Dec. 2 you probably don't need a ressie but get one just in case.
We have been there when Emeril was doing a taping at CityWalk. Emeril didn't show but Bernard did. He is a great Chef, real nice guy and oversees the New Orleans, Orlando and Miami restaurants.
To park you enter at the west entrance to RPR and they valet park you.
