I'm trying to decide on one nice place to eat while we are there, I've narrowed it down to Tchoup Chop and Mama's. I know they are completely different, but we like all kinds of foods. The strolling musicans at Mama's sounds so fun, but pictures of Tchoup Chop restaurants looks so amazing. I've looked at both menus and both sound good, so it's just more of a decision of which restaurant people prefer. Even if you have only eaten at one of these places, please tell me your opinions. Thanks!

One last question I know I can make ressies at Tchoup Chop on roundtable, but what about Mama's how do I make ressies there?

We have eaten at both.

Tchoup (twice) - we really enjoyed it, food was excellent, service was good. The menu is definitely more on the trendy side. I would eat there again.

Mama Della's (once before, plan to on our June trip) - it was a good Italian restaurant but nothing extremely special. We are going down with our sons who love Italian food, so we plan on eating there again.

If I had to make a recommendation, I would say Tchoup since it's, in my opinion, a more interesting meal and experience.

Tchoup Chop is definitely a much more "special" place.

Thanks guys, I was leaning more towards Tchoup Chop, but wanted some opinions first. I'm excited to eat there!!!

Come on ....get here already June!!!! I live in WV and we've got 2 inches of snow on the ground today---blah! :sad2: I keep thinking that in 2 months and a week we will be in sunny (hopefully) FL!!!

Our family votes for Mama Della's and we have eaten at both. We won't be eating at Tchoup Chop this year.

So did you not like Tchoup Chop? Can you tell me why? We are now thinking about eating both places, my 15 year old son really wants to try them both, I hope my budget can take it!!! :rolleyes1

We used a coupon from http://www.orlandocoupons.com/direc...=1&PHPSESSID=adbe7ecdf13a141c156b9fde162225e3

It took off $10 from a Mama meal. We had 2 spaghetti and meatball dinners with what seemed like an endless salad and split it among 4 hungry people (It was 10 p.m. if that tells you how hungry we were) and still had food left on our plates.

And our 1st time at Universal, we saved a lot of money by eating our extravagant meals at lunch--same meal, but costing less.

Thanks minniejack, right now they don't have any coupons from that site for Mama's, but I'll keep checking back, also sharing plates will save us money, and I'm sure it will be plenty for us to share too! Thanks for your input! :thumbsup2

I've eaten at both. I prefer Mama Della's.

Don't get me wrong, we enjoyed both restaurants. Mama Della's was just very special because of the ambience as well as the food.

IMHO you can get pasta and Italian food al over the place. Tchoup Chop has a more specialized menu that you won't find many places. Also the ambience and service is outstanding.

Most of the menu at Tchoup Tchop is seafood keep in mind!!

That is kind of what I thought too, and I pretty much have my heart set on Tchoup Chop, but now my son who loves Italian food says he wants to eat at Mama's, I told him that maybe he could just let me and hubby eat at Tchoup Chop alone, and then all of us go to Mama's another night, but he wants to eat at Tchoup Chop too! Kids, they NEVER think of the cost of anything! :sad2: We may eat at both places, IF we can afford it, but we will definitely be eating at Tchoup Chop!

Thanks to everyone for their input, you really did help. :)
