Hi all,hope soone will give us some advice.

We have priced up holidays for 4 of us(2 adults,2 kids) with tcd.Its seems a very good price £1829 for next feb,but after reading so many disappointing posts from un happy tcd travellers we are a bit unsure to travel with them or not.
We are not bothered about flying into sanford as when we went last feb we found it fine.

Any one got any good things to say about them?is it a good price or could we get cheaper with someone else.?

We've been with them twice and my sister has been with them 4 times - no problems at all.

Before you book look at direct holidays for prices they are normally V good.

Had a look at direct holidays and its no where near the price of TCD.

Price look good just make sure you do not encounter any problems because TCD are terrible at sorting out problems.

Customer service is non-existent and they are certainly not customer friendly IMHO

It is true that TCD have suffered problems (especially since they started their own airline). I have been with them several times, and only last year encountered a few minor problems. It was nothing that spoilt the holiday though.

TCD fly hundreds of thousands of people to Florida every year. Yes, there have been complaints, and some bad ones at that, but I could tell you a few toe curling tales about Virgin as well . Fact is the majority of people that use them are repeat customers who have never encountered any problems. The main "risk" of flying with TCD (in my opinion) is they dont have as much back up if, for example one of their planes has techie problems. You could face a delay on your holiday.

On the plus side, TCD cant really wreck the main bulk of your trip...once you are there and settled into your hotel or villa (the majority of which have nothing to do with TCD themselves) then its up to you to have a great holiday!!

For that price I would go for it. You know what TCD can be like, so you are one step ahead! Check your details carefully, ask for any extras to be confirmed in writing and ANYTHING agreed on the phone needs to be confirmed. ALWAYS get the persons name who you are dealing with!!

Travel City Direct use the oldest planes going.

Our plane last year was at least 30yrs old.

When their planes break down (on the ground not in the air!) you have to wait for them to fix it - this can takes 24hrs + as they don't keep any spare planes.

The queues at check-in are the worst ever! AWFUL

Watch out for their expensive car hire - £389 for an economy 4dr (14days)

Other airlines may have newer planes, but no-one else matches the upgrade service to Sunshine First that TCD offer at that price, while their economy seat pitch is still better than most. Because they fly jumbos (up to 400 passengers) as opposed to 767 and 777s (around 300), their check-in at Sanford can take a while, but, if you arrive early, hang on to your hire car by parking in short-term parking while you check in, then leave the airport again for somwhere local like Seminole Towne Center or Sanford itself, you will ensure a relatively hassle-free departure. Alternatively, just check in early and chill out in the Guest House facility at Sanford Airport ( http://www.orlandosanfordairport.com/terminala_layout.asp ).

Incidentally, the new duty free shops in the departure lounge are well worth visiting!

I do realise that there car hire is very expensive but,the whole price of the holiday was loads cheaper than we have found anywhere else.It helps that for the flight on this one is only £99 each.

We used the guest house this year and its well worth the money,we will be using it on our next trip.

Thank for all your replies im now wishing we had'nt booked with them.

Heres hoping that we don't have any trouble with them.
