Hi Evelyn
You are best sticking with a schedule flight if you really want to fly into MCO.. like Virgin or BA (for direct flights), or Delta, Continental etc.. for indirect flights.
Charter flights, like First Choice, Monarch, TCD, Thomas Cook all fly into Sandford.
Hope this helps
Tracy

Hi Tracy

Yes it helps, thanks. I'd prefer flying in to MCO as I've been through there twice before but this time it would mean being able to use the "Magical Express" which really would add that extra "magic" to our holiday. Do you know if Delta, Continental, American Airlines are any good? BA gave me a great quote for Sept 2007 so hopefully their quote for Sept 2008 will be pretty competitive (when I get it)!

Thanks again,

Evelyn

I like Continental, plus some flights are code share with Virgin, so are actually Virgin flights
For example,
gatwick to orlando flt No. CO8247 is actually VS027
and CO8235 is VS15
and Manchester to Orlando, C Flt No. CO8233 is actually VS075

Would this apply to Glasgow flights because often we are penalised more in prices and choice up here, even though we're actually a shorter flight time I believe?

Hi,
Would definitely recommend continental flights. We have flown with them a few times.

Just done a search on their website,
and its coming up with direct flights to Mco from Edinburgh in Sept 07 for £596 (direct with an hour on the ground at Newark - but still on board), and with one stop (£485)

Hope you can see this link?

It depends on whether Virgin and Continental decide to have a code share on this route. I think it will depend on how much take up there is on the initial flights this year

Thanks Tracy, useful to know a few other recommended company's. Normally cost wouldn't be a problem but I'm paying for my sister's hotel and flight so I need to get the best deal I can.

I see there are flights to Birmingham as well as Gatwick from glasgow. Have you looked at the cost of flights from BHX?

No I hadn't thought of that, is that with Continental? I had considered Manchester if push came to shove as I didn't want to fly from London (I have this irrational fear of getting lost at Gatwick or missing my connecting flight!). If BA give me a good quote though I'll consider it because they provide the connecting flight from Edinburgh to Gatwick and back.

Thomson fly direct from BHX,
Continental go via Newark,
Aer Lingus go via Dublin.
Is Edinburgh closer for you than Glasgow? as BA fly from Glasgow to gatwick and there are flights to Birmingham. also Stansted and Luton for other charter flights.

Yes, I live just outside Edinburgh but I know BA fly Edinburgh - Gatwick. I only mention Glasgow as most direct flights from Scotland go from there.
