Hi everyone

Does anyone know the maximum dimensions of hand luggage on a TCD flight?

Thinking about getting the kids to take their school rucksacks - medium sized but will squash down if required.

Grateful for your feedback.

I don't know any exact dimensions, but we took lots of hand luggage on TCD flight last year, including one large, and very full rucksack (whose name was Ryan, but that's a whole other trip report:D ).

I'm sure you will have no problems with your average school rucksacks...I just hope you do better than I did on getting your kids to carry them!!

Cheers

Yes my children are taking the little disney cases as luggage. They are the right size to take on as hand luggage. I phoned the Air line to make sure and its fine. Enjoy your hol

Hi,
My daughter took her Tigger pull-along Disney case on hand luggage last year, no questions asked.

again i dont know the dimensions but on the return journey back to england there are strict on the hand luggage weight which must be no more than 5kg per hand luggage, and they do weight them.My daughter wanted a 14ft trampoline bought back (1/3 of price in england) so we put all heavy items in hand luggage because we have never had them weighed before and got to sanford and had to check the children hand luggage into the hold.

Hi Andy

I don't know if TCD have their own rules regarding dimensions but the accepted industry standard is a linear measurement of 45" (height+depth+length). You may recall seeing at most check in queues a metal frame/box in which you can put your hand luggage to see if it fits the "template". The "expected" shape of hand luggage is 9"x14"x22" ( the same dimensions as the airport frame at check in) Most charter airlines allow a carry on weight of 5kg but some schedules airlines allow as much as 18kg!

school rucksacks should be fine as disney freak says they have to fit into the metal frame. & were also weighed. On our return journey a couple weighed too much so we had to take out & then have them weighed again. onnce weighe dwe could leave check in & replace items in luggaage, saying that it was mainly bottles of water so nothing too major.
