This Board Has Too Many Abbreviations!


I saw "NFL" somewhere yesterday, and finally figured out that the poster was talking about "New Fantasyland" and not the National Football League!"


Is there a sticky somewhere that explains them all?

I think we ought to make a list of abbreviations that are not used, or shouldn't be used, or are used many ways & perhaps we should just pick one. For example,

DLP = Disneyland Paris, not Disneyland Park (DL or DLR)
DS = Disney / Dear Son, not Disney Hollywood Studios (DHS)
DH = Disney / Dear Husband, not Disney Hollywood Studios (DHS)
DD = Disney / Dear Daughter, not Downtown Disney (DTD)
CS = Coronado Springs, not Counter Service (QS)
HM = Hidden Mansion or Haunted Mickeys
SM = Splace Mountain
CM = Chef Mickey
CM = Cast Member
CMCM = Cast Member Chef Mickey
PSM$SICGTWDW = Please Send Me Money So I Can Go To Walt Disney World
SE = Epcot (as in "That's not Spaceship Earth, that's Epcot!")
BLT = Bacon, Lettuce & Tomato, not Bay Lake Towers!


It's hard enough to figure out the abbreviations that actually do mean something - the ones that are confusing or just plain wrong make it a lot harder!
