How hard is it to catch a taxi outside the parks or resorts? If I call an authorized cab co. will they meet me where I ask? Anyone have any experience with this?

The last time we were at the BC the valet or cm's at the desk would call a taxi for you and it would meet you where you liked. we had no trouble at all. Hope that helps a little!

I think they are always taxis outside of Epcot. We took a cab onetime back to our resort because DH didn't feel like waiting.

They're everywhere. I've heard (mousesavers.com) that the *yellow* ones - any company - have an agreement with Disney and are fine to use. Other cabs do not have the same agreement and there have been horror stories about being driven 10 minutes and then told you owed the driver some ridiculous amount of money. There should be plenty of yellow cabs around, though. I know that one of the 'greeters' at Pop called one over for us last year and I'm sure that anyone involved in guest services could do the same.....

No taxis at MK. Found this out last year when we were there and staying off-site. You have to go back to TTC or Epcot.
No biggie, we just hopped the monorail and there were plenty when we arrived at Epcot.

The front desk at the Beach Club got one for us eight of us, so we took two van taxis. We needed to get back to POP want a direct trip back. It was less than 10 including tip.

How about at Pleasure Island at night? Is there a place where they can always be found, or does one need to call for one?

Cheers.

There are taxis available outside the main entrances of all the Disney resorts. Normally there is a cast member outside at a podium. He/she will get a cab for you right away. If for some reason there is no taxi waiting they will call and get one for you pretty fast.

We were @ Downtown/Pleasure Is last Oct. and saw a ton of cabs. Sorry can't remember exactly where they were. I do know there is an information booth and they can direct you to the cabs.

My grandson had become ill and was going to take a cab back but when I suggested leaving he all of a sudden became well. Go figure?

Anyone have any idea how much a taxi from Animal Kingdom to Pioneer Hall for HDDR might be?

I will guess around $15.00. I hope others will have a better idea. It seems most of the taxi rides at WDW fall in the $10-$20 range depending of how far and the traffic.
