Taxis & child car seats?

Hi, we are heading to WDW soon for a two week stay. We plan on using taxis a few times during our stay to get to AK, DTD, and Universal. We will need two child car seats that have 5 point harnesses and one booster seat.

Will we need to ring ahead and order a special taxi that will have these or is it likely that a taxi waiting outside the hotel (CR & GF) would have them? We're travelling long haul to WDW so bringing our own seats not an option for us.

A regular taxi will not have any car seats.....For this type of transportation you may need to contact a service and let them know that you will need to use 2 seats. Most supply one seat no charge and the second may carry a small charge.

when we went both times they had the toddler car seats (ask for them on phone) but |I was always told no for the booseters. I was told in orlando my dd didn't need them. That turned out to be false as when the dvc van picked us up they had the 5 point harness and the booster for dd. It was our experience that the car seats inthe taxis were really bad!

You do not need child seats or boosters for children 4 and older. Under 4 you need to utilize the 5 point baby seats. Taxis sometimes carry a baby seat but not more than one. Taxi vans usually cary one or two baby seats. If you call Mears taxi transportation they will make sure you have baby seats if you request them. A car service will provide the extra seats, but at an extra cost.

Thanks so much for the advice. It looks like calling ahead is the best option for us.

Our eldest is almost 8 but I would never allow him in a car without a booster seat so thats not an option for us. Where we come from the law requires them up to age 11 so I thought the US would be similar.
