taxis back from restaurants??

Hi - I am still toying with the idea of not renting a car on our next visit. And my only real concern is getting back from off-site restaurants.

Whilst I can see it will be easy to get a taxi from WDW - how do you find it - getting one back again??

We will be travelling with kai and lucas (who'll be 6 & 3) and they won't want to be waiting around for a taxi for ages. Do you get the restaurant to order one when you're half way through eating or what do you do??

We are primarily interested in eating at the Outback - its still our favourite after all these years!! - has anyone ever got a taxi to and from there??

i haven't done this in a while..
for the past several years, we've rented...
but back when we didn't rent, we used taxis and it wasn't a problem at all..
we carried the number with us and called from wherever we were..
we never had to wait more than 10 minutes...usually less..

Disney use Yellow Cabs (operated by Mears), so I would make a note of their number or ask the driver who takes you to the restaurant for his card.

Yellow Cabs dispatch number is:

the only thing to keep in mind - it's somewhat expensive...
but if you're only doing it once or twice it's ok...

DD is going to WDW in september...she's staying onsite, but will also visit universal one day....
so i told her just to take a taxi even though it's much more expensive than a bus....the convenience is worth the money...

taxi to outback near to dixi stampede no more than $20.there staf would order you a taxi if you wanted one,just ask your server when paying bill
Usaly we would walk over to publix near to it get some surplys then get taxi from there
