Taxi transportation with a wheelchair?

My daughter uses a wheelchair, but is ambulatory (meaning she can get up and walk if needed). I feel like I have a good grasp of what to expect for trains and subways with the wheelchair, but wonder if there is an option in an app to call a taxi that can store a wheelchair. It's pretty easy in city's like New York to find a wheelchair accessible taxi, but I suspect it will be more difficult in Tokyo and Kyoto. Googling pulls up companies that specialize in transporting people in wheelchairs, but it doesn't look easy to call one on a whim. Does anyone have experience with this?

In general, what app do people use in Tokyo to call a taxi if not flagging one down?

Thanks!

I used Go Taxi while in Japan but unfortunately I do not know if the app has a feature to let the driver know you have a wheelchair. I found the app super easy to use and found out about it on here by someone else who went to Japan so I'm passing it forward I guess!

Thanks! I am thinking we will need to take her foldable wheelchair so it can go in the trunk of most taxis. It's not ideal for her, as it's not her more usable custom wheelchair, but I don't want to have issues with transportation either.

I found that it varied on what size car I would get and the app doesn't let you know. Sometimes I got a basic taxi and other times I got a mini van that could fit 6 people. I don't think you would have any issues fitting a fordable wheelchair in either vehicle though. I took a taxi from Tokyo station to the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel (didn't want to bother with trains) and the taxi was able to fit large pieces of luggage without any issue.
