Taxi to brooklyn hotel from jfk airport

Hi all, does anybody know roughly the cost of a taxi from Jfk to a hotel in Brooklyn just close to the bridge.
I'm just wondering if its cheap in taxi or should I use the subway.
Our party consists of 2 adults, 2 kids and 3 suitcases

Taxis from Manhatten to JFK have a flat rate of $45, not sure if it applies from Brooklyn too?

Im staying at the affinia hotel Manhattan after my flight from JFK and need to return to the airport a few days later.
We have a party of 4 and I might just use a taxi for both ways.....was thinking of using super shuttle but its costing $144 and I reckon a taxi will cost around $50 one way so makes more sense to use a taxi .....does anybody agree this is the best thing to do ?
How much are you expected to tip these guys ?

Later on I am gonna be staying in Brooklyn and need the same thing...a taxi to and from JFK does anybody know how much that might cost...or any alternative cheaper methods of transport ?

I suppose there is always the subway but that seems lots of hassle for us.

10% tip minimum for cabs. You can also take the subway for next to nothing and it really could not be more simple...
