Taxi Service Available on X-Mas Day?

We are switching hotels on the 25th of December this year. What I need to know is, are taxi cabs running on the holiday or should I best rent a car the day before (24th Dec)?
Please advice...

They run, but are typically hard to find. Probably the only place that they will just be waiting around for fares is at the airport. Your best bet is to call and arrange for the cab in advance. (I recommend calling on the 23rd. I've had lots of trouble reaching cab companies by phone on Xmas eve; the phones are always busy.)

I'm heading to V&A for Christmas dinner. I plan on going by taxi between CBR and GF - not getting on buses in all my finery .

I won't have a problem getting a cab will I? Will any CM at the CBR reception call me one?
