Taxi or Towncar?

I'm new to the board and 1st time to Disney in about 10 years(June 2004). I've been reading tons of posts and have written down so much useful information.

I understand we can either take a taxi or make arrangements for a towncar/van to go to US one day (mid-trip).

Has anyone actualy done either or both? How are the cost comparisons? We are a family of 5 (2 parents, 2 teens, 1 grandson 4yo).

We're staying onsite- ASMo for 7d/6n.

By the way - how does everyone get those countdown calendars ?- they look fun.............

It would be easier and probably cheaper for you to rent a car for a day. You can rent via Alamo or National at the Dolphin and at the Disney Car Care Center and you can also rent other vendors at some DTD hotels. For example, you can rent an Alamo from the Swan for about $40 for one day.
