Taxi or Rental Car for My Stranded Sister? (And Harry Potter).

Hello!

So for a complicated storyline leading up to a simple question- should we rent a car for a day or use a taxi to get to Islands of Adventure?

Here's the backstory: my sister's high school band will be taking their trip to DW March 9-13. They're staying off-property and will be going to Epcot, DHS, Magic Kingdom and Islands of Adventure. My family is tagging along, staying at ASMu and added on a few extra days in the parks. My sister is going to join us when the rest of the band leaves on Wednesday, where they will be spending the day at IoA. We'll need to pick her up from there, but since we'll be flying to Orlando and taking Magical Express won't have a car.

Do y'all think it would be beneficial to rent a car for the day to pick up her and her luggage, or should we just take a taxi?

I would say right now renting from someone like Dollar from the Wyndam hotel near DTD will probably be cheaper than a taxi each way.
Picking up 3/13 at 9am and returning 3/14 at 9 am for a compact thru Dollar is currently $41.96 incl all taxes and fees, you can probably modify times to suit your needs. Dollar should arrange to pick you up at your resort and drop you off after you return the car.
Taxi will be approx $35-$40 each way depending on traffic on I-4, which can be a bear at times.
