Taxi into GCH

On another thread someone said that a taxi with a non hotel guest can enter, but an Uber or Lyft cannot. Can someone confirm they have done this recently? We Uber or taxi to the parks and my secret trick was a drop off at the GCH front doors. If we can't do this we have to rethink our whole plan since taking a taxi down Harbor is a nightmare and requires a U turn to get into the transportation circle. Where else could an Uber or taxi drop off near DTD?

They name check everyone entering the front gates. I had t give my name last time arriving in a Taxi. There is an Uber/Taxi drop off area in DTD near ESPN Zone.
