We are staying at the Holiday Inn just "across the street" from Universal. (Really it's about a mile walk) We are planning to take the free shuttle from the hotel to the park, but we may want to return to the hotel in the middle of the day when the shuttle is not running. I'm worried that the kids may be too worn out to walk (or it might be raining, etc.)

Anyways, I have a couple questions about taking a taxi from Universal back to the hotel:

1.) There are 5 of us. How many cabs are vans or other vehicles that can hold 5 people?

2.) I assume there is a cab lane at Universal?

3.) Do all cabs take credit cards or should we have cash available?

4.) What's the going rate for tip? From US to the hotel should only be around $8

Thanks!

1. There should be plenty. If there isn't one waiting, one will be called.

2.I know there is one down where the buses drop off....out of the park, into the garage area and down the escalator. You'll see the cabs all lined up to your right as you head down.

3. I have no idea...I use cash.

4. For an $8 rate, I would give them $10. That's what I did when going from YC to Pop...rate was $8, gave him $10..he seemed happy with that.
