Taxi from MCO to Universal?

My son is arriving at MCO on December 24th at 10:15am. We will be at Universal and thought about having him take a Mears van to Universal for $18. The only problem with that is, it might take 1 1/2 - 2 hours from the time that he orders the ride until arrival. Does any one know how much a cab would cost from MCO to Universal?

Probably about $40 or so. When I took the Mears shuttle from MCO to WDW, it took about 80 mins...we made about 4 stops before heading to S/D. I would imagine that that would be about the same for your ds.
