Taxi from Disney to Orlando - a few questions

OH wants to go to Orlando for a day to go to a gun range and take a class. While he is there I thought I'd visit a mall and do some shopping.

We checked on the Lynx site and getting the bus seems to be long and have some changes - is it easy enough to do?

The mears web page is saying it would be about $40 for a taxi, we thought we might get a taxi there and bus back. Do you tip taxi drivers? If so how much?

Driving isn't an option as we are from the UK and don't want to try driving on the other side of the road!

I usually tip 15%-20% of the cab fare. If they're friendly and very safe and helpful I go up to 30%

I would recommend using a cab both ways. The Lynx system can be convoluted for those unfamiliar with it. There would be transfers involved. A cab would be so much easier.
I generally tip 20%.

I agree. A cab isn't cheap, but time is money. There is no way that I would take the bus.
