Hi folks,

I need a bit of advice. I am going to dinney land paris with my wife on 26th of this month, for the weekend for 2 days. I will be landing in Paris CDG airport at 9pm by aerlingus. I plan to take TGV train , the last one is at 9:55pm. I hope I will get it but just in case if my flight gets delayed by an hour then what is the best option.

Do you guys suggest taking the RER into Paris and go to DLP from there (or) Would you suggest takign a taxi. How much would it cost? Is it safe? By the way this is my first trip to DLP, so not sure what my options are.

Please adive and thanks in advance.

Cheers
SB

I don't think I'd go for the RER I think it would be a lot of extra travelling and cost.

There is a vea bus directly from each terminal to the hotels and partner hotels at DLP. Are you staying onsite?

Which terminal are you flying into do you know? The TGV is at terminal 2 so if you're flying into terminal 1 I'm not sure you'll make it for the train.

I can't comment on these from experience. We had planned on getting the tgv, then missed it. Our back up was the vea and we couldn't find that, so we went for a taxi :rotfl: It cost around €70-€80 I think but was quick, direct to the door of the hotel no problems at all. It worked out so well that we booked a taxi on the way back as well.

Good luck and have a fab time :thumbsup2

Sorry should've said that taxi price was for 4 of us and a baby. I'm sure if you pre-booked it for 2 it wouldn't be as much as that. There are some companies listed in the useful info thread and you should be able to get a price from there. Same with the vea, I think that's €17 per adult.

Thanks for a quick reply. Well - we are staying onsite at Kyriad hotel. I am arriving at termianal 1. We dont have any check-in bags. Any idea how long it will take to reach from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2(TGV station)?

I checked VEA and even with that the last trip was at 10pm. So the plan B seems to be only taxi at this stage.

I'm not sure how long it would take as we flew into terminal 2, hopefully someone will be able to help you. There is an airport shuttle I think which takes you from one terminal to the other and stops at the train station.

The vea shuttle bus will leave from terminal 1 as well as terminal 2 though, so if you don't make the train you could still make that if the last one leaves from terminal 1 at 10pm.

Just found this link which may be of help to you

http://www.easycdg.com/pages/cdgval_light_railpag.html

It's got info on getting between terminals and if I've read it right seems to suggest that it's 8 minutes journey time between terminals 1 and 2. It's not a shuttle bus thing any more though, it's a new light rail thing, but it runs every 4-5 minutes.

I always arrive at terminal 1 CDG.

My first choice of transport, with just 2 people, no pushchairs, would be the VEA from there. The VEA picks up at terminal 1 first, before it goes to the other terminals, and then on to the DLRP hotels and bus terminus.

Then it would be the TGV. We usually get the TGV back from DLRP to terminal 1 CDG, as the times suit us perfectly. You need to factor in about 20 minutes I'd say, to get from terminal 1 to terminal 2 and the TGV station, on the CDG Val internal tram service. You should also factor in about 15 minutes to get from your gate at terminal 1 to the exit at terminal 1.

If you think your flight might be delayed, and therefore you won't make either the TGV or the VEA, you can prebook a shuttle. As Cookie says, theres info on private shuttles in the Very Useful information sticky on this forum.
