Taxi - do I NEED a carseat?

No, at their age, Florida law does not require them to be in a car seat or a booster.

I'm talking about the 14 month old...I can't be the first person with a baby who didn't rent a car or bring a carseat, but use a taxi...right??

Yes, your 14 month old does definitely need to be in a car seat.

You can request a taxi with a car seat, but there is no guarantee that it will be safe or clean.

Sorry, I didn't catch that. Yes, FL law makes no exceptions for taxis and all children under 4 must be in a car seat. As Alesia said, you don't know what you're going to get or if it is even installed properly. (Heck, once we were picked up by a DVC van to go to the timeshare tour and the car seat in the van was soaking wet! I don't know with what, but we didn't know it was wet until DS sat in it.
