Taxi Car service between resorts

Does anyone have experience calling taxi to go from resort to resort and how hard it was or long wait? Did you do it or did you ask concierge?

Approx how much is it from AK or HS area to MK area resorts?

I am only there 4 nights for our next trip and we have an infant and 5 year old. Will we need to lug car seats for both of them into taxi or for the short ride they will allow them to sit on lap?

Car rental outrageously expensive and I don't know it justifies the cost and main purpose is for our dining ressies at Chef Mickeys and Ohana. I know we can bus and then monorail from whichever resort we decide but trying to avoid that commute headache.

Generally there are taxis waiting at any resort. If not, Bell Services can get you one.
Maybe $23-$15? There's a sticky thread above with Popular Transportation Links. One of those is the taxi fare finder.
You can request cabs with two car seats, or a car seat and a booster - not up on Florida laws but no you may not ride in a vehicle with your children in your laps!!!!!
Using Disney transportation eliminates the headache of any child restraint device.

I don't see how it is safer to travel on DME or Disney buses without travel restraints compared to a taxi. It was a simple question coming from the fact that Disney transport doesn't require it but whatever. If it is required then I rather not use other people's car seats, we would just bring our own or cancel the ressies. Just trying to weigh all the pro and cons for all possible options. We've always rented a car and had our own car seats so that is why I am looking into what we can or cannot do if we don't rent this time.
