I finally got everything straightened out with the overcharge on my cc and got my confirmation number and all and NOW am told that there's a 50 charge they'll put on my cc upon checkin in case of damages and if I don't have that available then $200 cash deposit? They NEVER informed me of this. Then there's a tax per night charge on the room of 13% which they said was $5.07 per night. Is this for real? I think I'd save more money by staying at pop century some how but that's over $1000 for the nights I need. THEN they informed me that if I did not qualify, after I've confirmed that I did, they will then charge me $100 additional per night for my room. How is the real or fair? I thought I was booking this "great" vacation deal for $169 plus $58 for 2 additional nights and now I find out that there are more fees incurred that I have no budgeted for.

Sounds like you signed up for one of the timeshare presentations that you do for a discount room rate. To do the presentation you have to meet a certain criteria (i.e. age, income, where you live, etc...) so, if part of their criteria is you need to be 25 years old, and you lied and said you were 25 but your ID says you're only 23 - then they would charge you the full rate, not the discounted rate. If you're not sure exactly what you signed up for, you might want to call and clarify what you've gotten yourself into.

I have not lied about anything, especillly my age. LOL But I am quite concerned what I've gotten myself into now. I have 3 small children who will be with me as well and this sounds like it's a big headache. HOW can the legitimately charge me $100 more per night when I was NEVER told anything about having to live in a specific area. They're criteria I was told was between 25-50, make at least $50,000 per year and not have done these within the past 6 months. Are you telling me they are then going to refuse to honor this deal at the rate I was promised?

If you meet the original criteria then they have no right to raise the rate. Not that they won't try - this is Wastegate we're talking about - but if you stick to your guns you should get the lower rate and whatever else they promised you. just DO NOT agree to buy ANYTHING from them. They borderline on being thieves. Take what they offer and then run as far away as possible. Again, good luck and just say NO.

Thanks:) I have every intention of doing so, and should they TRY and charge my cc I will contact the company and dispute it as unauthorized. I'm already skeptical as it is.

Just to add to this conversation. You will have to pay sales and occupancy tax on your stay. That is probably an additional 13%. That is charged on all stays in hotels, motels and vacation homes in the area.

But it sounds as though they are trying to add some other surcharges on which I would not stand for. The sales and occupancy taxes you will have to.

Regardless of the "great" rate that they are giving, why would you want to stay somewhere at a place that is already jacking you around before you even get there?

Sounds like you are headed for a big headache IMHO.
