H&R block software still indicates that not all of the Federal forms have been finalized. I wouldn't file your return until the forms are final. If one of the forms you use changes, might cause you to have to refile an amended return. Racing to file your return with forms that might change seems like a bad idea.

Will they even let you file if your return requires a form that hasn't been finalized?

I use TurboTax and one of my state forms hasn't been finalized yet and the website literally won't let me e file yet because of that.

Well sure, if they had a return that didn't require any non finalized forms. Turbo Tax has indicated that IRS is ready to accept federal returns as of several weeks ago. My federal return can be filed anytime. I like to do them together though, so I'm waiting.

Congrats! Vanguard says we will get our last 1099 by Feb 17, so can't do yet. Not in a huge rush, I will have any overpayment applied to estimated taxes for 2023. But it would be nice to be done!

I about fainted. I had my Vanguard 1099 by mid-January.
