Tax refunds

Yep I am still waiting. I filed on Feb 1 and site still says being processed and I no longer get the status bar just a generic message.

Grrrrrr So we have the education credits...it was finally accepted on the 14th but it still says accepted...NOT APPROVED yet. grrrrrrrrr I thought maybe...just maybe a week later the progress bar would have moved.

Same here. No change this morning. I thought maybe today since it seemed that yesterday some people that also had education credits seemed to be getting DD dates. No such luck for us. I check once in the morning and then again in the evening. My son also had his taxes put in the morning of the 14th and his are as basic as they can be and he too has the same message. I figured his would clear quickly. I'm sure they are just so back logged. Here is hoping that at least some of you got great news this morning! :)

I am still here waiting with you guys. :( I already got state back so I am hoping that since that has already come back that there isn't anything wrong with our Federal return. Patience is not one of my virtues ;)

I'm curious what your refund ranges with state returns? We only have to do federal returns no state in Washington. Is it a couple hundred dollars or thousands, do you have to save your receipts all year?

Our state was only a few 100 here in ga. We do not itemize.we have 2 kids , im in school full time , and dh works full time :-)

I never get a refund from PA state because I never have any deductions, I think the only that is (at least in my situation) was contributions to a 529 account, which I don't do. We get 3.1% ( i think that is the % this year) taken out of my pay and I do my return and taxed paid = Taxes owed so the next is 0. Makes it real easy to file the return.

I think I MIGHT be making some progress, at least I hope I am. Until just a few minutes ago I haven't been able to order a return transcript and today I was able to.
I've read that if you're able to order a transcript that your return has been processed and your refund should be close behind. I sure hope this is true.
I was also able to transfer the data to my son's FAFSA today and I haven't been able to do that until now.
Fingers and toes are crossed!!! :thumbsup2

Well, I'm very upset. I did my taxes with TurboTax's online services (always have, never had any problems). It said I should receive about $714 refund from the state of New York-- right what I expected. Now, Friday night, I get a bill in the mail from New York State for $152, saying my return indicated I was a resident of New York City and therefore owed New York City taxes!!!!
I have never been a resident of NYC and poured over my refund-- I worked in NYC in 2012 but NOTHING indicates I lived there!!!
I'm just sick over this. I've been on hold with TurboTax for 40 minutes waiting to talk to someone, although I have a feeling they'll tell me that I'll have to take it up with the NYS tax department. Not sure who screwed up here, but the NYS tax department isn't open until Monday! I'll be worrying about this all weekend! No, it's not life-changing money for me, but I AM owed that $714!! I want to know how this kind of error happened-- especially because the TurboTax website is still indicating NYS accepted my return and I am due $714!!

My husband was just able to order one so I hope that's true.

I had education credits, return was accepted on 2/14 and I finally got a DD this morning of 2/27! :cool1: I try to be patient but it was driving me nuts to not see any progress on WMR!

ETA: Did anyone else get a message that starts "Please Note: Your refund may be reduced to pay a past due obligation such as child support, another federal agency debt, or state income tax."
I freaked out for a minute because I don't owe anything that would be taken out of my taxes, but after searching online it seems many people have received this message when their refund is split into more than one account. I called the offset hotline at the IRS and the automated system told me I don't have any offset debts, so I'm relaxing now!

I just checked ours and still no DD but I also checked DS's and his has the DD date of 2/27. Funny thing is his is showing a refund if ( dolllars less. :-/ Sure would love to have had ours have. DD date too. Sigh :(

I'm trying to be patient but it's not always easy. If it would just show up and say it's been accepted, I could relax. This is the first year we had education expenses. It just makes me nervous.
Me too!! i'm really nervous about it. my return had a lot of different things like 2 college students, unemployment, 1 regular job, a little self employment income, kids....it's usually pretty simple with only 1 w-2 from myself, claiming my 3 kids as dependents scared if i did it all right....

I can't believe the way this tax season has turned out. At this rate we may not get our refunds until summer.

and for me, this is the year i need that money to survive, not just have fun.

I posted this on another thread, but thought it would be appropriate here too... :goodvibes

I had to call the IRS about a separate issue yesterday, and when I finally got a live person (only took 30ish minutes! :cool1:), I mentioned the delay in processing that I saw on the website. I was informed that even though a lot of returns were accepted on 2/14, most of those returns did not start processing in the IRS system until Monday, 2/18. This is what is causing the lack of status change on Where's My Refund. I was told that hopefully, most of the returns that were accepted on 2/14 will have some sort of update by Monday 2/25 (since even though the website updates overnight, the biggest updates are done overnight on Wednesdays and Sundays)...

Hope this helps ease some worries! Of course, this is the IRS we're talking about...
thanks for that info :)

That is what mine showed yesterday but today it had dd date posted. I think others have said that happened to them the day before they got the DD date.

oh i hope you're right! when i tried to check today it says my info isn't right. i know it is! i pray that means my status will change soon!

We do not save receipts all year (except charity). They take both State and Local (county) income taxes from our pay. We get some of it back from credits for a few things but typically our return is in the high 100's. This year we received almost 500 but that is because they did a refund to all taxpayers because of a "lost fund that was found". We also get taxed the following year on last years refund so getting a refund is not really that great. For us with state is a good thing just not to owe.

Yipee!!!! :cool1:

We finally have a deposit date of February 27th. I almost fainted when I checked WMR this morning!!!

Hang in there everyone we are making progress!!! :thumbsup2

Happy for you. Just wish that ours would show up. I was so excited when I saw DS's had shown up. Figured ours would be showing too.....no such luck though.
