Tax bill...ouch!!

We have a 1400 sq foot house on a 1/4 acre lot and are tax bill is less than $800 a year.

Bergen county here too - we just got our tax bill and I couldn't open it, my DH had to do it for me. $15,000. ughh.....

karenos;)

Happy to only pay about $1800 for my 3200 sq ft house on the NW side of Indianapolis.

Wow that's what I don't miss about living up north. We live in Florida on 40 acres, 2500 sq. ft. house, large inground screened pool, shed, and a 2 story play fort and we only pay 1450.00 a year. Oh and don't forget the added benefit of living 2 hours aways from Disney. :cool1:

Ahhh, NJ property taxes. I remember them well. One of the reasons I am now a South Carolinian. I really dont' miss NJ at all. ;)

Just got my preliminary property tax bill in the mail.

$7740.16

Although we live on 5 acres, (2400 sq ft home) we have NO police, fire, garbage pickup, sewers, etc. We're served by the State police, neighboring town's fire depts and EMTs, we pay for garbage pickup, etc.

We're in Warren County, NJ. And believe it or not, I'm not really complaining. I have neighbors that built McMansions and pay over $12K.

It just hurts a little to see it in print.

Over 9,000 here small house & lot & certainly not a Mc Mansion:rotfl:
It could make you throw up......

Ouch, the taxes are why DH & I skipped right over NJ and bought in The Lehigh Valley Pa., well taxes and just about every other living expense is cheaper in Pa with the exception of gas. But I can drive into NJ the 8 miles to get gas. I don't know how you guys do it, writing a check that big would make me ill.

I have a cousin who bought new construction in NJ and is paying...
wait for it....
$25k a year in property taxes!

I DO enjoy having someone else pump my gas....:rotfl:

$25K...I just threw up in my mouth.

Hi PA neighbor! I enjoy your mall and my son loves your laser tag (in Whitehall)!

About $1,100 a year here for a 1960's rancher on 1/2 in the Richmond area of VA.

I am currently paying $1400 for a Philadelphia rowhome

I recently did a pre-emptive housing search and found a very nice single in Haddon Township, NJ and the taxes were around $7,500. Not too much land, but a nice yard with a pool!

$7,500 may be fun, but I would GLADLY pay it if it means I don't have to deal with all of the dumb stuff I deal with here!

:scared1:

I will never once again complain about the 1800.00 a year we pay in property taxes. We have a 4 bedroom house with attached garage and a basement.
