Tax and the dining plan

Hello! It seems to me that most of the time when people are deciding whether or not to use the dining plan versus paying oop, that tax is not usually considered. Do the menus on all ears for example include tax or are the prices listed pre tax? Tax is included with the purchase price of the dining plan I believe?

Tax on the meals is included in the dining plan.

I understand that if the price ends in 9 it's probably tax included, you might see that on buffets or fixed-price restaurants, but in general restaurant menu prices do not include tax.

Actually, I think more people do than don't. If you use Rusty's sticky on AYCTE prices over on the restaurant board, the tax is already included. That makes it easier for those who want to do character buffets to do the calculations.

With the 6.5% tax rate, the tax on a $15 QS meal is right at $1, so even with 10 of those on a 5-night QSDP stay, you'd only be missing $10. If you're that close, I'd still pick OOP over the plan.

Thank you - that helps with the budget planning!
Not that the tax is all that much - but it helps me to be prepared. Planned on using Disney GC's for tax & tip - & now I won't have to buy quite so many.
(Who am I kidding? Now I'll just have more $$ for adult beverages!!)
