I pay xx per week, actually it's $xxx. :lmao: I receive a small, grant (?) from a local church, which is paid monthly to my daycare ($100.00 per month).

I received my tax form from the daycare showing what was paid this year, and she is only including what I PAID, not the total, what I paid and what was paid by the church. Shouldn't the tax form show the total amount paid, regardless of who paid?

The church is not affliated with the daycare in any way; it's just an outreach progam offered by the church, which is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

They gave you documentation for the amount you can claim on your tax return. You cannot claim the amount paid for you by someone else.

I would think that the church got one for the $xx that they sent, just as you got one for the $xxx that you paid.

that's the way it worked for the clients who received child care financial support through social services. providers were instructed to send tax info. to a client for only the amount they PERSONALY paid. any other amounts paid by social services, a second parent (not in the home) or any other source had to be accounted for on the provider's part for their tax returns-but the client only got the tax info. for their paid portion.

same thing happens when a person gets no assistance from any source-they only get the tax info. for what they have actualy personaly paid (and people would get royaly ticked off at the daycare my kids went to when they owed back daycare and spaced on paying it until after the first of the year-they wanted to be able to have the full benefit of the write off for the previous year but daycare had to report actual money received in the actual calendar year it occured).

No, you only get to claim the amount YOU paid.

The daycare will have to claim both the amount you claimed plus the amount the aid was for. I run a home daycare and I always receive a 1099 for the amount the state pays me for parent subsidies.
