any one ever get a tattoo while in port as a "souveneir"

anyone have any disney tattoos they could show me?

I would not recommend getting a tattoo in a port unless you really research the artist and facility ahead of time. I wouldn't want to do it in another country unless I was sure they had strong safety standards. The last thing you need on vacation is to end up with an infection (or worse) from unsanitary equipment. I'd do it locally that way if it doesn't come out the way you like and/or you need touch-up work done you can take care of it there.

Yes I would be very careful. We had "Henna" tatoos put on in Mazatlan along the beach and most everyone was just fine...but my Mother In Law had a Mickey Mouse painted on her ankle and it swelled up and she still has a red welted outline of Mickey where the black ink used to be! :faint:

gross! ok so no tattoos on the actual cruise...does anyone have any actual disney tatoos from america?

I saw a woman on our West Coast cruise with a really cute Tinkerbell tattoo.

Just a word of caution...there really is no such thing as "black henna". Anytime you see someone passing black paste off as henna, they are actually using black hair dye. :earseek: So your skin will often react the way your MIL's did, and can actually be worse..you can end up with permanent scarring. There are different colors of henna, but black is not one of them.

And I will also chime in that I would not get a real tattoo in another country either. Same points as other posters made...

The hair dye thing makes alot of sense! Thanks for that information!

I have a cute Mickey holding a rose behind his back on the inside of my right ankle. Maybe an inch and a half tall and so very cute. I printed out several designs in different sizes. I even cut a few and taped them to my ankle and walked in front of my mirror. Sounds crazy but I was very comfortable with the choice I made. I had it done at a parlor in my hometown. Make sure you research the parlor. Good luck!
