So I am considering applying to PIs & DCP for Fall 2014, something I've seen mentioned a lot but not elaborated upon is tattoos while working at Disney. I ask because I have two visible tattoos (they can be covered with long sleeved shirts though) and I am curious what is Disney's stance when it comes to tattoos.

Tattoos aren't permitted by Disney Look. Anything that is visible either needs to be covered or you need to cover it up with a bandage or makeup. I saw several people do this, there are plenty of tips out there if you need it. If it is generally a tattoo that won't be visible, you'll be fine. Just don't mention it.

My daughter is doing the CP this Spring. She has 2 tattoos on her back that are visible in a swimsuit or tank tops. She will keep them covered anytime she needs to be dressed in the "disney look". The Disney recruiter did specifically ask if she had piercings or tattoos during the interview. Tell them the truth. From what I have read and what she has told me, there are alot of CP's with tattoos. Also, you can't use bandaids/bandages to hide them..either clothes or makeup. Hope this helps:)

If you lie during your interview - it's grounds for termination (in any company not just Disney)

My S did Spr Adv 2011, there were CP with tatoos (decreases your chances: IMO). If you see someone working outside in the Florida heat with long sleeves: There is a tatoo.

That isn't true. I saw plenty of CPs who did hide their tattoos. You don't need to hide them during orientation, they'll just ask, don't lie about having them. But when you're actually working? If it is a small tattoo, there are plenty of CPs, and fulltime/part-time cast members who do have tattoos. They have to be covered up. Whether by clothes, bandages or make-up, they don't care as long as it is within Disney look. I saw one CM who wore bandages every day. It is just not an ideal way to hide them by bandages as people will start to ask you questions if you wear it every day out of concern.

I'm interested in doing the CP as well, and I've been looking to get a disney tattoo in the near future! However, you would definitely have to cover them up with make-up or clothing if it's in a visible area. If not then you're good to go! Like everyone else said, be honest during interviews and notify them if you have a tattoo. It's better to be honest and be turned away than for them to find out you have one.

Bethp is correct - according to Disney Look policy - tattoos should not be covered up by bandages.

That being said, a lot of Leaders allow a simple flesh colored bandaid to be used as they are small and discrete, but if you try to use a wrap or something more than a standard size, you will be told to cover it up another way or will need to be recast.

As for the Orientation quote above - if you mean check in, then that's correct. If you mean Traditions, then the tattoo must absolutely be covered.

As someone who works closely with Disney Look, please do not hesitate to ask questions before you arrive. I've seen everything from a simple discussion, a record card notation, being sent home from work, and termination over Disney Look violations.
