We have just returned from another great hol to the world. On visiting MGM studios we went to the WWTBAM show before its demise. As the family were watching we were suddenly taken by the Floor Manager who looked very familiar. After the show my sister who was a great fan of Tarzan asked a cast member if the FM was the lead singer from the show, he said he was, so we asked could we see him. He was getting ready for the next show but came out to see us and we told 'Billy Flanigan' that we had all loved tarzan and were sorry to see it go also that he would be losing his job again after wwwtbam closes. He informed us that this was just a filler until he took his new job on the new Nemo Show at AK where he may even end up as a shark! He was very courteous and a little surprised to be recognised but he posed for a photo (below) and signed our park guide for us. A great guy from a great show and really made our day.

He sang a song to my daughter during the taping of the Christmas parade two years ago. She loves him. He has worked for Disney for a long time. They used to have a Ken and Barbie show. He was Ken.

We were wondering what had happened to Billy after Tarzan Rocks closed. It's good to know that he will continue to entertain guests at WDW for a long time to come. Our memories of Billy go way back.
We were vacationing years ago at WDW over DD's 5th birthday and she chose to go to the MK to celebrate on the big day. We took in a show at the Tomorrowland Theatre called "Totally Minnie" starring Billy and many of the main characters (including Minnie of course). During the course of the show a child was brought up from the audience to be interviewed by Billy and sing and dance with the characters. When DD saw that, she made it clear that the one thing she REALLY wanted for her birthday was to be the one chosen to perform with Billy in the show. We contacted a CM after the show and explained the situation and asked what we could do to be chosen. Although she couldn't promise anything, she showed us where to sit to give us the best chance of being selected, and I sat in that spot for 45 minutes (mid-August, no shade) before showtime to hold it. As it turned out, DD was selected to go up on stage, and the video I shot of her, Billy and the characters is a treasured memory. Over the years we have seen Billy at FW in HDDR and of course at Tarzan Rocks, and were reminded of that day many years ago when DD got to perform on stage at WDW.
Currently DD (a college Theatre major - still loves performing) is again at WDW, now working in Entertainment as part of the Disney College Program. She has been there since January, and is enjoying it so much that she is extending until next January. She had wondered what had happened to Billy, since she arrived just after Tarzan Rocks closed. She thought she might look him up and tell him about being on stage with him on her 5th birthday. We are leaving next weekend to visit her and again celebrate her birthday at MK. Maybe we will take some time to try to track Billy down and get a picture of DD and the guy she performed with in her first appearance in front of an audience.
