Tarzan Rocks or Lion King?

Wich show is better at AK? Tarzan or Lion King?

Both are good, but in my opinion, the Lion King show is better.

A fairly recent survey ranked it as the best show on property. Not just AK. All of WDW. (those of us who work at AK are quite proud of this little fact, even though we may not necessarily have anything to do with the show )

I love Tarzan Rocks!!!
I am a Tarzan movie fan and LOVE the soundtrack. The show is really neat and the music is great.

Festival of the Lion King-
This is an awesome not to be missed show. I have never seen anything like it. Definately a must see.


If you could only do one I would pick FOTLK. But then again I would try really hard to see both shows.

Hands Down!! Festival of the Lion King!! It is definitely my most favorite in all of the parks.

Honestly, I did not like Tarzan Rocks at all. We had never managed to have time for it in all of our trips, so on our last trip, I was determined to see it. Saw it, was tempted to leave early, won't do it again.

While I really enjoy Tarzan Rocks, if I had to choose, definitely Lion King!

Well, I guess I'm in the minority here... but, we enjoyed the Tarzan Rocks show much more than the Festival of the Lion King. I had never seen either show before this last trip, so we made it a point to see both last week.

Although the Lion King is one of our favorite movies, we just really didn't enjoy the show at AK very much. On the other hand, we really didn't enjoy the Tarzan movie very much, but enjoyed the show at AK!

In the future we will be back to see Tarzan, but definitely won't be squeezing in the Lion King show on each trip. HTH!

I tell everyone that goes to Disneyworld, that the Lion King show is worth the price of admission to AK alone. It is truly phenominal, you won't believe the passion and energy these performers give out. I love it so much that my DS11 spied the CD of the entire show in the gift shop at the BC and had my DH buy it for him to give me, very sweet. It is a fantastic CD! We never miss this show each and every trip!!!

FOLK - first thing we do every trip - its our favorite show in WDW.

My vote goes for FOTLK. Tarzan had it's moments but loved Fotlk from beginning to end.

Sorry but I can't stand Tarzan Rocks. I love the movie and feel like the Tarzan Rocks show doesn't even come close to resembling anything remotely like the Tarzan storyline.

One of my co-workers recently came back from her first trip to WDW and joked about how awful the show was as well. We now have a running joke together where we compare Tarzan Rocks to a list of things we would never want to do. For example "I would rather watch Tarzan Rocks than have a root canal, I would rather watch Tarzan Rocks than have knee surgery, etc."

I think part of the problem is when I saw it we had a Tarzan that looked dumb as Rocks!! You could tell he was hired for his body and not his acting ability. You could almost see him saying to himself "One, two, three . . . now look over the crowd, act like you are strong and masculine. Now look to the left, now look to the right." In fact it was so bad that my now ex-husband turned to me and just laughted at the part where Tarzan walks out toward the audience and looks into the horizan. He was laughing so hard I thought he was going to pee!!

I don't think it's even close -- Lion King is so much better.

One thing to keep in mind is that most people seem to either love or like Lion King, while there are people who dislike the Tarzan show. It's been a long time since we've seen the latter, but my musician dh thought the performance quality was truly bad. Where we were sitting (back -- righthand side), though, the sound quality was not what it should have been.

I've decided I should see it again some time, b/c that day was not our best ever at WDW. It was extremely hot, we had a bad lunch (at Flame Tree -- I probably also should give it another chance), and my child with Asperger's had a meltdown. We returned to the resort immediately after Tarzan.

Lion King is better, but don't miss Tarzan Rocks. My kids loved it. The singing and roller skating acrobatics are great. We really enjoyed the show.

I've been to WDW 5 times at this point. I've seen FOTLK 4 times and Tarzan Rocks once. We love Lion King. Tarzan was just so-so for us.

We LOVE the Lion King. It is one of our favorite thaing at all WDW. WE found Tarzen too loud and just not our thing.

I thought the idea for the Tarzan show was kind of fun, but it was so loud and crowded and the singers weren't that good. So, we most likely won't be going back (unless it's a 90 minutes until the parade begins and the show is starting right now situation).

However, my family and I have been known to make a special trip to AK from other parks just because it was the only way we'd get to see Festival during that trip!

We had heard so many wonderful things about Lion King that I could not wait to see it. Even though we all really enjoyed the show very much, and have been back to see it again, I think our expectations were set way too high.

and we heard so many terrible things about Tarzan, we were expecting nothing and were pleasantly surprised! Even though it isn't a performance like Lion King, we found it really entertaining.

If you can, see both. If not, I guess Lion King would win out.
