Target return question

So, all you Target shoppers, I have a dress I'd like to return. I have the receipt but it says it expires 9/3/09, so I'm JUST past the 90days...will they take it back & give me a refund or a Target credit or am I stuck w/ the dress?

I'm going to try...just want to know what to expect when I go...

Thanks!!

I know our local Target won't bend at all on returns. They won't even allow exchanges past the date on the receipt. I think you may be stuck with the dress, but you have nothing to loose by trying. Maybe you will get lucky.

Since your are past the return date,I think the most they can do for you is to return it at the last sale price on a giftcard.

They'll probably give you store credit. My suggestion, if you have two stores near you. Go to one and see if they'll return it with the reciept. If not, go to the other store and do it without the reciept. But you'll get the lowest price in the past 90 days.
If it's an item on clearance, they might not take it.

I always hate trying to go alternate routes at the same store, because they'll probably just look at you and say "no is NO", but another store won't be so angry with you.

Is there a good reason why you're returning the dress?

My experience has been that if you don't have a receipt they ask for your drivers license and only allow 3 returns per year without a receipt.

My experience has been that they will give you a credit that must be used that day in that department. So, you will have to go back to women's clothing and get another item using the amount on the receipt.

Good luck.

Well, I'm back from the store. The dress was on clearance when I bought it...the reason I was returning it is b/c I bought it a size too small because I was gonna get into by a certain event...didn't happen. LOL

I told the girl that the receipt was 6 days past the 90 & I didn't know if she could take it back. She said let's see...scanned the receipt, said "Yup. It's taking it." The full amount went back on my card. :woohoo:

I have to say I'm surprised, pleasantly so. I was prepared to take a store credit or take the dress home. I wasn't going to argue...I knew it was my fault. :)

Thanks for all your responses!! :goodvibes

If I try something like that, I don't mention what I know. I just say I have a return and produce the receipt. Let them decide what they'll do.

Glad it worked out for you!

My partner is a Target manager. You're stuck with the dress unless you take it in without the receipt. Then *IF* you haven't already done one this year you'll be able to a markdown rate on the dress in store credit.

I didn't intend to tell her. LOL When I'm nervous, sometimes these things just spill out. :rotfl2:

Obviously not since the OP was able to return the dress for the full value of what she paid.
