target redcard?

Believe it or not, I don't live near a target, so I really don't shop there much. But, I am thinking of getting a redcard with my debit card when I visit my daughter this weekend. I am taking my grandson to WDW in a couple of weeks and would like to get some Disney GC's to use while there, plus save the 5%. So, if I go to Target to get the redcard, do I get it the same day? Or is it mailed to me? I don't want to bother if I can't get the discounted GC's that same day, since I won't be near a Target after then. Thanks!

You can also get them by mail. Usually free ship with Target.com orders too (on everything).

There is no way that anything shipped will get to me in time. We are leaving next Friday, the 14th. That's why I would need to get the redcard the day of at Target.

You can get the gift cards electronically for immediate use. I'm pretty sure you can then set them up for use on your phone. Otherwise, you can get a DIsney gift card from anywhere and transfer the electronic card to the physical card on-line.

If I'm reading this correctly, your question is whether the RedCard is immediately activated in order to use it for the discount the same day you apply for it?

The answer to that is no - there is a processing timeframe where Target has to verify your bank account is active and connect the RedCard to your bank account. You can't apply in store for the debit card Red Card and use it the same day.

HOWEVER - you can apply for it online, ahead of time (as in, do it today). It takes 3-5 days for the Debit card to be active - they send a couple of small charges through to your bank to verify it is a valid account, which takes a few days depending on your bank.

OR you can apply for the Credit card version, in which case if you are approved you should be given a RedCard number as soon as the approval goes through.
