Target online won't honor sale advertised yesterday - anyone have same issue?

Yesterday after dinner (so perhaps 5pm EST) I was online looking at some items for DS for Xmas. Under several toys was, "buy one get one 30% off" *AND* spent $75 get a $10 Target card. I said - SCORE - I'm ordering these right now. I placed 5 total items in my cart and spent over $75 before my Red card discount and the other two items did not take off 30%, nor did the $10 gift card show added or applied. NOTHING. I couldn't call Target online since my DS was there with me.

I tried again about 2 hours later and the buy one get one 30% was still showing on lots of toys, but the spend $75 and get a $10 Target card was no longer showing which was my first clue - something was going on.

I checked again this morning and now both promos are gone. :confused3 I just called them (luckily I work from home) and they won't honor either one of them. I was hoping she'd know they did offer this yesterday and she can see I had these items in my cart yesterday and she said no dice. If it's not showing "live" these promo exists they can't do anything about it. I told her I should have taken a picture to prove it but apparently that wouldn't have mattered anyway. I don't order a ton from Target online but I'm not a newbie either. I've never had a promo or sale discount not apply.

Is this normal? Did you guys experience this yesterday?

Was your total still $75 after the redcard discount?
Were all the toys you added part of the B1G1 30% off promo? If so, maybe its only 1 promo per order? Therefore you wouldn't be able to use the 30% off one more than once, or combine the spend $75 one.

I'm sorry I'm not more help, I've never had an issue like that.

Yes it was def over $75 as I added an extra item to make sure I was well above it. I did have 4 items that had the buy one get one 30% off so it should have taken the 30% off two of them. It never said only one promo but I understand exactly what you are asking!

I saw the promo on lots of toys so just curious if anyone had success.

Do you ever go to slickdeals? Whenever I have an issue with shopping, I check there because if there is something going on people post about it. Maybe others had the same thing happen and found a solution and poste dit there. :goodvibes
 

The same thing happened when I was trying to place an order from Personal Creations. The coupon wouldn't apply even though it was valid. I called right away and she took my order over the phone and gave me the discount. Next time try and call them the same day so the issue gets resolved. Because I know once a coupon expires they can't really help you. Sometimes a manager might have the discretion to give you some sort if discount but that's not always likely.

Similar thing to me at the disneystore.com. Actually I have all sorts of trouble with them. coupons not showing, letters in personalization disappearing, not shipping/arriving when suppose to.. Every time I order I don't re-order for months cause of 1 problem or another and forget over time how much the cute isn't worth the headache.

But I called and they helped me over the phone, the experience took 10 times longer, but honored it. :(

Yep - lesson learned and I will have to call and hide in another room next time so DS won't hear me on the phone :) I just assumed if it was a promo they offered it would last all week and not just "disappear" like some Amazon lightning deal! :rotfl:

I had an experience like this. They sold out of a stroller I wanted right away. Even tho it was in my cart. I called later and they would not honor any promotion after the fact. I called 3 different times to complain. I was told there was no one higher to speak to. I was very persistent. I finally spoke to a supervisor that was on the same level as the other 2, but she gave me a "curtesy" discount. So- it proves to me that they can help you if they really want to.
 
Early October they has the same promo, BOGO 30% off and $10 GC for $75 spent. I did 3 orders to get a head start on Christmas. It worked that day.

Someone on another thread posted they had Legos buy one get one 30% yesterday as well and like mine, gone today. :confused3

You were lucky. Something in your cart is not yours until it is paid for, unless you're using a web site which holds items in your cart for a certain amount of time. Otherwise, someone else can swoop in and buy it.
