My dd was home on spring break this week and brought the game Catan with her. Our whole family played and really enjoyed it. Got everyone away from the TV for a few evenings. So, I went to order it and saw the deal of buy two get one free, so thought I would share the info.

Thanks for the tip. We LOVE games; Catan is one of our favorites. This is a great deal when you start looking at the more expensive board games like Catan. If you need suggestions for games like Catan, you might like Ticket to Ride, Machi Koro, or Lost Cities. Lost Cities is only for two people, but we like it as our kids aren't old enough to play yet, and we can play after bedtime even when we don't have friends/family over. :)

Other great games at Target are Forbidden Island, Forbidden Desert and Pandemic. These are all cooperative board games, which I love because you win or lose as a team rather than competing against each other. DH and I are big board games fans and have a pretty big collection.

Which Catan should I look at- there are quite a few options, and range in price.
We just started playing this week so I am not an expert. What we did was look on the Catan website. You have to start with the basic Catan game first. Then you can add expansion packs for other versions. We ordered cities and knights and traders and barbarians. But, honestly I would just go with the first Catan to be sure you like it before you buy the other versions. There are also packs to expand the game for more players. The original can only be played with 4 people. The extension allows 2 more players.

Thank you! I was just looking at ticket to ride. I will probably order that whenever there is another board game sale. I will look into the other two you mentioned as well. Our kids are older so we play with them.

Thanks! I will check them out. We are board game fans too! But, we go in spurts and mainly play in the winter. We also enjoy puzzles.
