While all of their summer merchandise is marked down, we really didn't need anything BUT one thing really caught our eye. They have the electric coolers/warmers for the cars (6 pk size) marked down to $7.48!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1: We couldn't pass it up. It will be nice to keep our meatballs sandwiches warm when we head down to WDW (family tradition.....my mom made them when I was a kid and we would drive down and now I make them for my family. I can't cook meatballs and NOT think of heading to Disney!! ), then keep drinks cold once we finish them. :teeth:

Wow, I have to head for Target. Do you remember what section they were in?

Mmmm. I think I'll travel with you so I can have some of those meatball sandwiches. Yummy.

I was at Target today. They had a bunch of toys marked down 75%. I noticed they had some good deals in housewares dept, too.

I'm not sure if all Targets are the same, but those coolers/warmers were located in our Target in the automotive section. Ours were all gone, but I saw the sign this morning along with the empty shelf space.

Ours had them in 2 sections...along the back wall (behind pets and harware), they had all kinds of summer merchandise. Everything from the patio storage boxes, automotive roof carriers (if the one they have goes lower, I'm buying it! It went from $130 to $65...needs to go lower for me! ;) ) to the coolers. The other ones were on an end cap in the automotive section. Some had the marked down price of $7.48 and others still had the $20 clearance price. Double check that they have the correct price in their scanner. I don't see why it wouldn't though. The cashier scanned it and it came up the lowest price. :cool1:

If anyone is driving to WDW in Dec., maybe we should have a DIS meet right there at a rest stop. I'll supply the meatball sandwiches!!

Target also has two packs of Gold Toe Socks marked down to 1.24 for a pack. They also have two packs of their own brand of Cool Max socks for 1.24. I stocked up on back to school socks, gotta love Target.

Oh, I got to go check and see if they have one tomorrow at our Target. In our family the tradition is country ham biscuits. We travel by car getting up about 4am and as daylite approaches those country ham biscuits are calling our name.

We leave about 3 am.................we should meet up, have your biscuits for breakfast, then have the meatball sandwiches for lunch!! Anyone make anything special we can all share for dinner? ;)

Thanks Always Quiet, I'll have to go check tomorrow.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check out our Supertarget tomorrow.

Our traditional on the road food is McDonald's!, LOL.

herc.

What a great thread. Those ham biscuits are calling my name, too. We usually consider ourselves lucky to get all the kids packed and loaded, so Cracker Barrel is our usual road food. We do have chips and beef jerky along for emergencies.

In my late teens, I traveled some with a girlfriend whose grandmother lived with her. Granny always made chocolate chip cookies and fruit salad for us whe we had a trip planned. What I wouldn't give for a bowl of that salad! She had a special touch and the patience to peel, slice and dice all that fruit.

Sounds good to me. We'll just start our own dining plan early. By the way "swilshire" think you could round up some chocolate chip cookies?

I hope not to burst your bubble, but I bought one of those from after Christmas clearance and it didn't work one bit! I bought it 90% off after XMas for a little less than $3. I gave it to DH for his birthday in February. I knew we had a trip to Florida planned for the summer, so I thought it would be great. We don't usually bring lots of food on our road trips (sorry I can't contribute to the meal plan ;) ) but I like to have a cold drink once in awhile.

Anyway, we used it this past trip and it worked about as well as if I stuck the cans of coke on the dashboard! DH wanted to pull over and throw the cooler out but I wouldn't let him. We tried it again on the way home and the same thing. :( I hope I just got a defective one and that yours will work.

Sadly, Granny passed away many years ago. I've never had any chocolate chip cookies as good as the ones she made, and believe me, I've sampled many of them.

We have a larger thermoelectric cooler and find it works best if you put drinks in cold versus putting in room temperature drinks expecting them to get cold. Were your drinks cold when you put them in?

Yes, they were cold - straight from the fridge both times.

We got one of those after Christmas ones too for 75% off. It doesn't work! The ones I saw were different ones and they looked to be much nicer quality.

Just returned from Target -got one of thse Rubbermaid SUV/Minivan cargo organizers for $3.49 - Orig price was 29.99! It is HUGE inside & made out of very durable canvas -will carry lots and lots of stuff. Gave it to DS who plans to take his car when he returns to college this fall - he can keep all his sports stuff in it, and actually be able to find everything! He has a saturn, not an SUV or minivan, but it will still fit in his trunk nicely. Target has the greatest markdowns!! :cool1:

I just picked up a full size mister fan and bonus handheld fan (about 3" long") on a keychain for less than $5!

Target's back to school section is awesome! They had Elmer's glue on sale for .20 cents!
