Was wondering if anyone had the inside info on when we should expect Target to go 75% Off their Christmas stuff. I have a few items like wrapping paper, and gift bags I would like to get at 75% Off. :goodvibes

It's not done chain wide anymore like it used to be. It's now based on how much intentory each individual store has left. Some will be 3 days after...others up to 1 week after Christmas.

My Target store said that there are going to be a lot of disappointed people after Christmas because they won't be doing the markdowns like they use to.

I've been to a few Target store looking for a paticular light set they carry and they are all gone. Unless it my imgination I think all stores are carrying less inventory on certain types of season goods and won't much of anything left of certain things once big dicounts hit.

I noticed there is less holiday inventory at all of the Targets in my area. I wonder if they are carrying less seasonal stuff this year because they figure with the recession people might be buying less of it? I remember aisles and aisles of Christmas decorations etc. in the past and this year it is just one small corner of the store.

I don't think that it's your imagination at all! DH decided that he wanted all white lights outside this year. I went looking for new net lights 3 weeks ago and NO ONE had any! I went to 2 Target stores, Wal-mart, Lowes, Home Depot, Menards, 2 Meijer stores and 3 Walgreens and left empty handed. There was very little of anything left at all.

I was in Hobby Lobby earlier this week and they have their Christmas down to 3 isles total! This time last year, they had at least 10 isles of Christmas. Doesn't look like we'll be getting many bargains at all this year.
:sad2:

Our Target already has lights marked down 30% (and they didnt have as much as usual to start with) and trees marked down 50%.

They also already had a ton of Valentine stuff out! :confused3

I'm just hoping I can get some cheap gift bags somewhere. I used up the last one today. I have enough wrapping paper and boxes and gift tags for the next decade probably.

This may not be super-budget of me, but if there's something you really want, I'd buy it before Christmas. If you watch the sales you can almost always find 40 or 50 percent off in the week or two before Christmas. The day AFTER Christmas, it's still just 50 percent off, and really picked over. So waiting until after Christmas nest you maybe an extra 10 percent. I'd rather get it before Christmas and enjoy or use it.

I do hit Target/Walmart when it goes to 75 percent off, but it's usually browsing for anything that really stands out. I try to make a list of stuff I'm low on, so if I see something I know whether I really need it. Otherwise I buy stuff on clearance, then buy it again in November before I crack open the Christmas boxes!

I hope they still have their big toy clearance come January. That is where I get the majority of my gifts for the entire year! :scared1:

Our Target already has the clearance endcaps at 30% for toys. January and August are my Target faves!!

I went to Home Depot to buy some things I needed and noticed the sign for "up to 50% off xmas decorations". Immediately thought, I'll buy some for next year. Not one of the outside decorations available. Only xmas trees. Two weeks ago at walmart, there were barely any xmas lights. So, I am guessing that the stores are getting less merchandise due to the current situation.

I work for Target the Discounts have started we have trees 50 percent off at my store. Next week you will see more go. But the big day should be next Saturday after Christmas for 75 percent. The thing is this year Target as a company ordered less so there would be less at the end of the season there may be some slim pickings when 75 hits.I hope this helped :)

So the day after christmas we should expect Target to go to 75% Off since they have such little merchandise left?

I agree on the low inventory. I also went looking for lights this week- 2 Targets, CVS, Walgreens & Kmart - all out!! My friend said she saw some at Walmart but it's pretty far from me so it wasn't worth it. My outside just looks a little sparse this year!

DH was hoping to get a few boxes of white lights for his work to put on the bushes outside by the sign but I couldn't find any outdoor string lights anywhere. :confused3

I went to Target today and they had plenty of christmas stuff including a lot of light sets. They don't have as many speciality lights as they have in years past but they cut down on those last year anyway.

Everywhere I've been though has still had a lot of christmas items out and I didn't think any store has been seriously lacking in with decorations, though I do think it's kinda crazy that some places are taking down the Christmas stuff to put out things for valentine's day already.

I'll still go out after christmas looking for good deals, but good markdowns may be harder to find this year which is kinda sad. I like to add to our christmas decorations each year when they go on clearance, sometimes christmas decor is so expensive 50% or more is the only time we can buy any.

I'm going to Target early on 12/26 and buying anything that I need/want for future gifts/uses, even at 50% off. If it goes lower, I can always rebuy and return the item. But, I'm expecting the selection to be picked over rather quickly.
