Target Gift Card Question

I have $500 in Target gift cards that say on the back, cannot be used for Visa Gift Cards, American Express Gift cards, or prepaid cards.

I called Target and they were not very helpful. Can I use these to purchase Disney or other gift cards, or are those considered prepaid cards?

Thanks!

Yep, you can buy Disney gift cards with a target gift card (at least you could a month ago when I did it) because Disney (and most if the other GCs except the prepaid visas and Amex) are classified as "entertainment cards."

As pp said, you can, just don't ask when you get there. It has been my experience that they are trained to say no, I assume because they are told they don't work for gift cards. I just go the register, hand them the cards, get total, hand then the gift cards and then go about my way.

If for whatever reason that doesn't work I've heard it works online on the target website.

It does work online. Or it did three weeks ago when I bought $300 worth. The only trick is, you can only buy $150 at a time. If you have a Redcard entered as your primary payment online, you can get 5% off too. (Or at least I did).

Yes, you can use them to purchase Disney gift cards.
Just don't ask the Target employees any questions!

Lesson to be learned is look on Disboards before calling companies. Employees do NOT know the ins and outs that we have here, and alerting them is not helpful. Rental cars, gift card deals. etc.

I used to work at Target and this is what I would tell customers:

"If the cash register allows it, I will do it."

Is there a limit on how many you can purchase at a time in the stores? I need to purchase $1250 worth. Of course the Target employees told me you could no longer get 5% off on Disney cards, so we'll see what happens when I go in to purchase them.

I just want to double check with people more knowledgeable than me.

If I purchase Disney Entertainment Cards from Target using a Target redcard at a discount - I can use those to pay for MNSSHP tickets correct?

Can I enter 3 GCs online or would I have to call?

I would assume the same would apply to the Memory Maker package - I could use the GCs to purchase that?

Finally, I was at Target the other day and saw cards marked "Stay Play Dine Shop" - I assume those are the entertainment cards that can be used at Disney World correct?

When I bought my villains unleashed tickets I could only do one gift card online. I'd call to use more than that!

I bought $2000 last week, and got the discount. One other piece of advice... search the checkout racks for sequential card numbers if you are doing a big purchase. The CM I got on the phone was so happy when I told him "I have 40 gift cards, but the first 8 numbers are all the same." We buzzed right through the entry of all 40 with no problems.

Yes, you use the stay play dine shop cards for all things Disney, and it's easiest to call and talk to a cm for multiple cards. Just make sure you keep the cards because if for some reason you needed a refund, it goes back on the original card automatically.

I too bought $950 at a time twice last month, but yesterday they limited me to 4, saying there was a $200 limit on cards. I probably should have argued "entertainment" vs "gift card", but I was tired and in a rush so I didn't bother. I'm paying my balance down on Friday so I might try again this weekend because it's a lot faster than ordering 3 at a time online and having to wait for Target's sloooooooooooow shipping.

I used gift cards to buy my MNSSHP tickets, and the phone rep told me I could only use 2 in one transaction. That was fine with me since I had 2 $100 gift cards that I was using for the tickets; maybe I just got a lazy CM.

I wanted to use disney gift cards to pay online for MVMCP tickets. I have a Disney Vacation Account I have used in the past to pay on my trip. I am thinking of putting the gift cards into my Disney vacation account and then use that account number online in the gift card entry to purchase the MVMCP tickets. I like to pay online for the time convenience when possible.

Can anyone tell me if you can use Disney Gift cards at the Atlantic Boardwalk and Jellyrolls for alcohol?

I guess if this is the case, I could just go online and buy one ticket at a time??? I know another poster said you could do up to two gift cards per online transaction to pay?

If I remember correctly, yes you can. However, you can't use it for admission.
