When I use my Target debit card it takes 3-5 days to actually hit my bank account.

It normally takes a few days to clear, it's not taken out right away.

A lot will depend on how your bank handles deposits.

If I put cash into my son's bank account, all of that cash is available for immediate use.

If I deposit cash into my bank account (different bank), only $100 is available for immediate use and the remainder is held for one business day.

Any amount of cash is immediately available with my bank. I know when I use my Target Red Card they take 3 days to take the money out of my bank account. I was curious if there was a delay with depositing money. I have many Disney gift cards to buy, and I wanted to make sure the money was there before I got there.

There is a limit on how much you can charge, I activated mine yesterday, money was in bank, but Target would not allow me to purchase 1500 in Disney Gift Cards, called the call center and was told there is a trail period to see how much you spend. There were no guidelines on how much you could spend, how often you could purchase.... The system allowed me to purchase $250. I will go back tomorrow to try again.

I just called them and asked what my limit would be. They said there was no limit for my account, as long as the funds are in there. I will believe it when I see it.

If you've had your Target card for awhile, you may not have a limit, or it at least will be higher than someone who just opened their Target account. As you use your card you build up a history with them and the amount you can purchase at one time goes up.

Yes there is a daily limit. I once had over &10000 in my checking account and they denied a transaction. It was far less than what I had but I think that I was trying to get cash back for the second time in one day.

You cannot be sure when they are going to take it out. Be sure to have it available.
